High-Strength Forged Ring / Disc for Extrusion Pressure Systems
Forged Pressure Rings and Plates are thick-wall
Structural Components used in industrial extrusion presses and high-load pressing systems. They transmit axial and radial loads while maintaining stability under cyclic extrusion pressures.
Unlike thin-walled wear parts, these forged rings/plates are non-consumable structural components, emphasizing engineering value and long-term service life.
Typical Applications
- Extrusion press pressure systems
- Support rings for cylinders and containers
- High-pressure load-transferring components
- Industrial presses requiring thick-wall, high-strength structural parts
Typical Dimensions
| Parameter | Typical Range |
| Outer Diameter (OD) | 400 – 900 mm |
| Thickness / Height | 80 – 200 mm |
| Single Piece Weight | 0.5 – 3 t |
| Geometry | Solid ring, stepped disc, or flat pressure plate |
Dimensions are within our forging and machining capabilities, avoiding small tooling-like parts.
Typical Materials
- 42CrMo / AISI 4140 – Standard alloy for strength and toughness
- 34CrNiMo6 / AISI 4340 – Higher fatigue or torsional performance
- Optional: 40CrNiMoA, 30CrNiMo8

- Open-Die Forging – Optimizes grain flow for radial and axial load resistance.
- Heat Treatment – Quenching and tempering for high strength and toughness.
- Rough Machining – Reference surfaces and thickness control
- Finish Machining (Optional) – OD, thickness, and flatness tolerances up to ±0.01 mm.
Mechanical & Functional Characteristics
- High resistance to bending and fatigue
- Stable under cyclic extrusion pressure
- Thick-wall design ensures dimensional integrity
Inspection & Quality Control
Forged Pressure Rings and Plates undergo full-spectrum quality verification. Spectrometry confirms chemical composition, mechanical testing validates tensile and optional impact performance, and ultrasonic inspections (UT / PAUT) ensure internal soundness. Dimensional accuracy is verified using CMM and conventional gauges. Each component’s journey from forging to finished product is fully traceable through its heat number. For more information on our complete traceability procedures, see our
Product Identification and Traceability page.
