Open-Die forging shapes metal blanks under compressive force between flat or contoured dies, optimizing the internal grain structure for superior strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance. This process is ideal for medium to large shafts, industrial gear shafts, heavy machinery components, and structural blocks. Depending on requirements, the Forged Blanks can undergo heat treatment—including normalizing, quenching, tempering, or annealing—to further enhance mechanical properties and prepare them for downstream processing.

1. Material Selection & Heating
We source premium alloy steels, carbon steels, and specialty grades from top-tier mills. Billets are carefully heated in computer-controlled industrial furnaces to achieve uniform malleability and refined microstructure.
2. Open Die Forging
Using large hydraulic presses and skilled forgemasters, billets are shaped through controlled processes like upsetting, drawing out, and piercing. This creates continuous grain flow along the component geometry, enhancing toughness, fatigue resistance, and load-bearing capacity—critical for shaft forgings and heavy cylindrical components.
3. Heat Treatment
Forged components undergo precise quenching and tempering to develop required strength, hardness, toughness, and wear resistance, ensuring performance under demanding operational conditions.
4. Rough Machining for Near-Net Shape
While these are rough-formed open die forgings, we offer optional rough machining to prepare parts for final precision machining. This integrated approach provides a cost-effective, high-quality solution for complex shaft and block components.
