As the largest ring gear in a wind turbine gearbox, the first-stage ring gear is responsible for bearing the initial high-torque input from the main shaft. Manufactured from premium alloy steel through Ring Rolling Forging, and precision machining by subsequent customers, it features robust tooth profiles and deep carburizing and quenching treatment. This enables it to withstand extreme impact loads caused by wind load variations. Its massive size and strength make it the core load-bearing stage of the Transmission System.
